Replacing Your Laptops Hard Drive

A hard drive is usually easy enough to replace. It is usually situated under the keyboards of most laptops. All you have to do is to remove the requisite screws and the keyboard will come up on its carriage. After this, replacing the hard drive is fairly elementary. Newer models will give you access at the bottom side of your laptop. You will just have to remove the srews and romove the cover. Of course you will need the appropriate screw driver.

Once the cover is removed carefully unplug it from the connector making sure not to damage any of the pins. Once the hard drive come off you could test it if a friend is willing to lend you his laptop for this purpose, or if you happen to own a second laptop.

If the hard drive tests out on the second laptop the problem is more technical, and probably requires specialized expertise, and you should take the laptop down to your nearest service center. If the hard drive does not work on the second laptop, a simple replacement is all that is needed. Just buy a new hard drive, making sure that it is both compatible, and that it will fit inside your laptop, and put it in place of the spoiled drive. Where replacing a hard drive is concerned, laptop repair isn’t difficult at all.

Best Regards
